ACA provides a great deal of information to a wide variety of users. To
be practical, it had to be easy to manage that information and get
it to the right users at the right time.
When providing information related to investment packages, security is
a primary concern. Every user has to be a seperate entity and accounts
have to be secure.
The solution to ACA's access control concerns had to be cost effective
and quick to implement. There wasn't a budget for building a custom
solution from the ground up or spending huge amounts of developer
time on implementing the system.
When information changes frequently, the easiest
way to display it is to provide it dynamically. This means that what
the user sees, theoretically, is created fresh every time he comes
to your website. Dynamic page generation pulls data from a database,
maintained in this case by ACA, and creates the page seen by the
visitor.
The tools used by ACA allow for the creation and
classification of users, setting their access to various information.
They also allow for the management and classification of various
types of information, controlling which users can see the information.
These tools give ACA complete control over user access and information.
A third tool also allows ACA to export user details from their database
for use elsewhere.
Sometimes, the most time and cost effective solution to a problem is to
adapt something already on the market to your needs. For ACA's project,
OCI analyzed existing password protection packages and selected one
that came close to satisfying their requirements. The package was
then altered to make the match complete.
OCI was
able to provide ACA with a cost-effective, secure way to provide
constantly changing information to their users.
